Hot on the heels of London fashion week, on Thursday 25 September Harrods hosted the annual Pet-á-Porter fashion show in support of the Retired Greyhound Trust, a UK charity dedicated to finding homes for ex-racers. The flagship fashion event for pampered pets, Pet-á-Porter showcased the latest in canine couture.

Fashion icon and Retired Greyhound Trust supporter and patron Twiggy took time out of her busy schedule to launch the event, posing with ex-racer turned greyhound model Jazz, who strolled down the catwalk in an exclusive outfit by top UK-based designer Ben de Lisi.
The event went to show that there is more to greyhounds than track racing and showed that these handsome hounds make perfect pets, not to mention catwalk stars!

ALthough this is fantastic news for greyhounds to get such good media coverage, I find it rather insulting that the article states the Retired Greyhound Trust as being “the only UK charity dedicated to homing ex-racers”.
The RGT is NOT the only group dedicated to rehoming ex or non ex-racing greyhounds, please check your facts before going to print! Just a few examples are Greyhound Gap, Sighthound Welfare Trust, Greyhounds in Need etc. Please see this link for others.
