Better day today. No car catastrophes and lots of great dogs on display.

Funniest sight of the day – the National Dog Warden’s Association have a talking mechanical dog on their stand, the dog is so realistic he’s managing to attract the attention of many real canines, fascinated by his brand of witty chat from his lofty position atop of his kennel. We spoke about this chap last year. He’s an incredibly clever idea as he draw a crowd to a relatively small trade stand with an important message to give. Crufts, on the commercial side, does seem to attract an ‘I’m bigger than you’ philosophy as big brands try to out-do each other with glitz and razzmatazz via their huge stands, so it’s great to see a little innovation play a part from some of the organisations who don’t have huge promotional budgets to woo the crowds.

The organsiers of this year’s event get a big pat on the back. Far less congestion, far more spaced out eating and drinking areas and less bottlenecking in general. Well done. £7.00 for parking is STILL outrageous though. Crufts is not a cheap affair for a day out for the family.
