Premier League Footballer Injured in Dog Clash
Stoke city midfielder Liam Lawrence could miss his side’s next Premier League clash with Portsmouth after a freak injury caused by his dog.
The former Mansfield town player has, according to his boss Tony Pullis, ‘gone over on his ankle stepping over the dog’.
This is not the first time dogs have been involved in high profile collisions.
Former US president Bill Clinton was the centre of a major security scare after his dog at the time, Buddy, ran to greet him, knocking the leader of the free world to the ground causing security officials to reach for their guns.
And this wouldn’t be the first time a dog has caused a footballer to miss a match either.
Dog loving footballer Gilles De Bilde landed himself in trouble with football club Willebroek, who play in the Belgian league, after he missed a game to mourn the death of his dog.
The former Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa player is said to have not turned up for a league game following the death of his dog.
