It is 24 hours since I read this in Celia Hammonds book and I haven't stopped crying. I keep imagining the poor dog spent 10 days of hell, waiting for someone to come and see him, for someone to give him some water & food, he must have wondered why and wondered what he had done wrong, he must have been so lonely and died not only in pain but so so sad. It is beyong comprehension that these idiots can still cause suffering to animals when we are supposed to rely on them protect!!! Surely the most basic 'IN/OUT' indicator that a dog is in the kennel on the wall of the police station might have prevented this? Why would somebody who did not work at the station deal with the dog then go off and not inform anybody they had put a dog in the kennel, this person wants sacking pronto! Any inquiry will probably say that they are too busy fighting terrorism to worry about dogs. What an appalling disgrace, hope that the SSPCA prosecute as well or are there different rules for the police?
