World First: Dog is Called as Witness in Murder Trial
In what is believed to be a world first, a magistrate has invited a DOG to take the stand as a witness in a murder trial.

Scooby will give evidence on the grounds that he is thought to have been with his late owner when she was found hanging from the ceiling of her flat in the Paris suburbs.
Police are working on the basis that this is a suicide, however family members believe a murder was committed and they allege the only witness was of the canine variety.
Hopes are high that Scooby can lead the way to the murderer having already playing a part in the preliminary hearing having, “barked furiously” at a ’suspect’ when taken from his kennel to the witness box.
Judge Thomas Cassuto praised the dog for his “exemplary behaviour and invaluable assistance”.
However, lawyers are not so keen on the canine collaborator.”Human evidence is unreliable enough, let alone canine evidence, said one legal eagle.
“Besides, the victim died two and half years ago, which is seventeen dog years! How is the animal supposed to remember that far back?”
The judge will now decide if there is enough evidence to go to trial.
