The law requires a finder to return a dog to it's owner or hand it to the Local Authority where it was found. Once they had control of the dogs the RSPCA traced the owner and returned them. Job done. I WAS good publicity too wasn't it. "More often than not we pick up injured or stray animals and they are not chipped so we have no way of knowing who they belong to." Generic 'Animals' not dogs, yes I do have a problem if they pick up a dog and take it to a Branch kennels but not this time. I don’t have a problem with that rescue. These two dogs were strays, as they were without their owners. Did the RSPCA contact the local council or did they go for the publicity of 'saving' dogs without bothering to contact the authorities?
