Princess Goodwin has had skin grafts and stitches after she was attacked at 3.00am by pet dog, Ali.

Goodwin, an ex nurse, said, “I heard this growl, and then felt someone had hit me. I shot out of bed ready to fend them off.

I went to touch my face — but it wasn’t there. There was blood everywhere. The shock was more than the pain.”

Princess, who lives in West Sussex, went on, “I am gutted. I’m on 30 tablets a day and will have to have a new nose.”

The dog has been euthanised but Princess, who still has a lurcher, declared, “It hasn’t put me off dogs.”
