American Kennel Club Helps Choose a Dog For Barack Obama

Now that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has chosen his vice president, it’s time for him to concentrate on another important selection: family dog. The American Kennel Club(R) (AKC) will announce the breed selected by the public via their http://www.presidentialpup.com/ poll, on Thursday, August 28th at 10 a.m. at the American Kennel Club Headquarters, 260 Madison Avenue, between 38th and 39th Streets, Manhattan.
The AKC launched the poll after reports that — win or lose — the Obamas promised their two daughters a dog after the presidential election. More than 42,000 people cast their vote over the seven-week campaign. The race was tight — almost as tight as the contest between Obama and Clinton for the Democratic Nomination — with the winning breed edging out the runner up by just a (dog) hair.
