The children are off school, the weather is warmer – this is prime dog attack season in the United Kingdom.

Studying trends of the past decade, the school summer holidays is one of the most likely times that children can be exposed to the dangers of a dog attack.

Often children are left with friends or family, grandparents perhaps. If their temporary carers happen to have a dog, it is crucial to ensure supervision is paramount.

The heat, the unfamiliarity of routine, the new people on their territory, boredom on behalf of the children can all lead to horrible accidents.

Extra caution is urged at this time of the year.

Dogs and children should never, under any circumstances, regardless of breed or background, be left unattended.
