Ex England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio has spoken about how a brain tumour may have lead to the family’s pet dog attacking the star’s six-year-old son.

The Wasps player told how his son, Enzo, suffered an attack serious enough to put the youngster in hospital and needing stitches to his face. He is expected to make a full recovery and doctors believe the scars will heal in time.

He is expected to make a full recovery β€” but doctors said the scars will take time to heal.

Dallaglio and his wife were leaving their London home for a club event when the attack unfolded. The dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback called Como, was destroyed although the couple’s children were not told about this.

The player himself believes a brain tumour may have been the trigger for the unusual behaviour. He said: β€œI feel guilty as I brought Como into our family.”
