Ex England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio has spoken about how a brain tumour may have lead to the family’s pet dog attacking the star’s six-year-old son.

He is expected to make a full recovery — but doctors said the scars will take time to heal.

Dallaglio and his wife were leaving their London home for a club event when the attack unfolded. The dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback called Como, was destroyed although the couple’s children were not told about this.

The player himself believes a brain tumour may have been the trigger for the unusual behaviour. He said: “I feel guilty as I brought Como into our family.”
