Karl Marx (I think) said 'religion is the opiate of the masses', well I am no junkie! Dogs play an important role in many societies, even the President of Iran has got protection dogs guarding his mansion, although he did get a special fatwa passed to allow this, though this was probably not required as the article above points out that protection dogs and hunting dogs are allowed?
