Personalities Gather to Recognise Animal Welfare
Celebrities and animal rescue charity workers met in London yesterday as guests of Wetnose Animal Aid. Wetnose was founded 10 years ago by Gavin and Andrea Gamby-Boulger of Norfolk, UK, writes Maria Danes.
The event was hosted by Lord Hoyle at the Chelmondeley Room in the House of Lords. Gavin and Andrea organised the Wetnose Awards as a way to celebrate and give recognition to some of the amazing and dedicated staff of rescue centres in the UK and abroad. Wetnose brought several centres together in order to congratulate and thank staff and volunteers for their dedication and tireless work saving animals all year round.
The event was one of smiles, applause and wagging tails and Gavin and Andrea were happy to point out Red Nose day helps to raise money for people and Wet Nose day is here for the animals!
The Wetnose Awards was presented by Wendy Turner and Ingrid Tarrant and guests included Jenny Seagrove, Ann Widdecombe, Lorraine Chase, DJ David Hamilton, John Altman, Nick Knowles, Caroline Langrishe, Gary Webster, Russell Floyd, Graham Cole, WSPA, Your Cat Magazine and Clarissa Baldwin of Dogs Trust.
Film clips showed the vital work of each organisation and guests were interviewed and had a much needed chance to discuss their work with fellow animal advocates.
