Mayhew Animal Homes Urges Dog Owners To Get Fit With Fido

The Mayhew Animal Home in London runs many annual events and is urging dog owners to have fun and get fit with the help of your four-legged friends. They currently have two events coming up in the next few months and are calling out for dog lovers of all fitness abilities to join in the fun.

The Mayhew Sponsored Dog Walk and Dog Show, Hampstead Heath, London 25th April 2010

Registration for the dog show from 10am with a start of 10.30am and the four-mile sponsored walk starts at 12.20am.

The Mayhew runs many annual events and on April 25th 2010 we are holding our Sponsored Walk and Dog Show in the leafy Hampstead Heath in London. Last year’s event was a fantastic success, with hundreds of dog owners turning up to enter the show. The categories were judged by our Mayhew chief vet and comedian and dog-lover Ricky Gervais helped us select the ‘Handsomest Male’!

We are currently planning for this year’s event and would love it if you would consider judging one, or more of our dog show categories.

*Prettiest Female
*Waggiest Tail
*Dog that judge would most like to take home

British 10k Run, London 11th July

The Mayhew Animal Home in London is looking for dog-mad fitness fans to lace up with love and raise some sponsorship for the charity by taking part in the British 10k Run.

The route of the annual Run on Sunday July 11th takes runners past many iconic landmarks in the capital city and is great fun for all involved. It is also the chance to support The Mayhew, who care for high numbers of abandoned and unwanted dogs and also the work of the charity’s Animal Welfare Officers and their community outreach to care for canines.

The Mayhew relies solely on donations to carry out its vital work and taking part in sponsored events is a fantastic way to raise some pennies for the puppies and have fun at the same time!
