Notice: TV Dog Training Show Dog Borstal is Cancelled

Submitted by Ryan O'Meara on February 22, 2010 – 4:24 pmOne Comment

The TV dog training programme, Dog Borstal is no more. This is not news. Not news if you consider things that happened well over a year ago to be news! The reason we’re publishing this article today is to – hopefully – clarify to the many hundreds of people who contact us asking to apply to go on the show that, well, they can’t! It’s not being made any more. Each month we see a large volume of people reaching this website for Dog Borstal related search terms. (The wonder of Google!)

And every other day we receive emails from people asking how they can apply to be on the show.

So this post is designed to help us communicate the fact that Dog Borstal is only aired on TV via repeats and, to the best of our knowledge, their are no plans to bring it back to BBC3 any time in the future.

So if you’re having problems with your dog and seeking dog training advice, we have a couple of tips:

1) Join this dog chat forum (its members are always willing to give friendly, intelligent advice)

2) If you’re not a forum person, ask your local vet for a dog training referral. Your vet should have a good idea of who the local dog trainers of good repute are.

Don’t let dog behaviour problems go unchecked.

Don’t wait for a TV dog trainer to ride to the rescue.

If Dog Borstal has taught us anything, it’s that even seemingly very serious dog behaviour problems can be remedied with some simple, experienced advice. No matter what your dog’s problem, don’t let it get out of hand, don’t be embarrassed and don’t forget to make full use of the mastermind group that the WorldWideWeb puts at your fingertips.

In tomorrow’s ‘news’: Why Barbara Woodhouse can’t pay your dog a home visit.
