There seems to be no dog shelter, dog warden or emergency number that were answering their phones and this was a weekday before 5pm, in the end it as desperate measures I had no other alternative as I have a dog of my own who would not take too kindly to having another dog on its territory, I phoned the police to see if they would take it in, and their attitiude was appalling. The point being 'a nation of animal lovers' - I think not, I am nearly in tears just thinking about it.
