So many dogs have expensive medical conditions (caused by radical breeders creating dogs that suffer from major health problems throughout their lives). Many breeders concentrate on fashionable dogs that are not easy to manage for busy households, elderly people or those with children. A large percentage of these dogs end up in shelters or being euthanased. This is a scandal and one that dog magazines must address. Because donations are down and costs are up, dog lovers are going to pounds on the 7th day to rescue the dog from being put down. They take it home and advertise it in local newsagents, etc. It's not a problem for the breeders - but a major problem for dog lovers! 10.5million dogs in the UK in 2006, how many now in shelters?
