He said they checked on “more than one occasion” that the dog, which has since been destroyed, would be safe around children.' Surely this gentleman was going to get the dog trained to the standard where it could be deployed as a Protection Dog, rather than just 'take it to work with him' If he knew the dog was going to be used as a Protection Dog, why did he let his child near it? If Mr Willis a qualified security dog handler he should know that he should take all steps to prevent his dog injuring anybody? Why did he leave the child alone with the dog? Why did he not approach a security dog company to get a trained dog off them? Sadly this sequence of events was as it turned out, an accident waiting to happen. Again apart from an injured child it is the dog that suffers due to the stupidity of irresponsible dog ownership.
