Potential pet owners nationwide can now find their perfect match online thanks to London shelter Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s new online rehoming application system.

Previously people have travelled from far and wide in search of the perfect Battersea pet.  Recent long distance rehomers include couples from Kincardineshire in Scotland, Wells in Somerset, and Dyfed in Wales.

Now those interested in rehoming a dog or cat from Battersea can find love online using a simple downloadable form. Battersea’s dedicated rehoming team will then assess the application remotely, and successful applicants will be followed up with an in-depth telephone interview.

The new system means that in some cases people from all over the UK will only have to make one trip to Battersea, to meet prospective pets and often take them home that same day.

Says Simon Lynn, Head of Rehoming and Customer Services for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home:

“We’re really excited that we’ve made our rehoming process even easier for those living outside of London. We have many animals in need of a home and opening up our catchment area is good for pet lovers and good for the thousands of pets in our care.  Regardless of where you live, if you’re interested in rehoming a dog or cat, just log on to our website, fill out the online form and we’ll be in touch.”

If you want to apply to rehome a dog or cat from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, log onto www.dogshome.org/rehome and click onto the online application forms. To find out more, call the rehoming team on 020 7627 9234.
