The family law firm of Shoun, Bach, Walinsky & Curran, P.C. came up with a new idea for giving back to the community this Christmas season. They decided to sponsor the homeless dogs at the Friends of Homeless Animals of Northern Virginia – all 132 of them. Shoun Bach will sponsor all of these dogs for three months while they are awaiting their “forever” homes. Shelters for homeless animals have been particularly hard hit by the economy and are struggling to make ends meet.

“We are a law firm full of dog lovers and this seemed like a natural gift for this holiday season,” said Bob Shoun, managing partner of the firm. “A number of our lawyers have rescue dogs, and the idea of helping these shelter dogs until they are adopted appealed to all of us. It is our hope that others may learn of our Christmas gift and perhaps be moved to make a donation to their local animal shelter or rescue group in the true spirit of the season.”

“This is truly a wonderful gift, and very much needed and appreciated,” said Shelley O’Brien, head of fund-raising for Friends of Homeless Animals of Northern Virginia. “We rely on donations and the work of dedicated volunteers to continue our mission to save the lives of unwanted, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. We’ve been really hit hard by the economy and this generous check is an answer to our prayers.”
