Celebrity Supporters At The Mayhew Christmas Evening
‘Uther Pendragon’ and ‘Queenie’ and ‘The Queen’ were among line up to host fundraising evening in support of The Mayhew Animal Home. Anthony Head, Miranda Richardson, Jenny Seagrove and Sue Jameson came together for a Christmas fundraiser hosted in the beautiful backdrop of St John’s Wood Church in St John’s Wood London for The Mayhew Animal Home.
The third annual event was a great success and this year’s additional attractions include traditional Russian folk singers, a delicious seasonal buffet, classical music performances and an auction with the chance to win celebrity-donated items, such as an animal print by Mary McCartney, Eurostar tickets and a VIP package to the filming of Harry Hill’s TV Burp on ITV. The bidding was fantastic and the evening raised over £9,000!
Actress Sue Jameson, who has just appeared as The Queen in the Channel 4 programme, said:

“We have had two lovely dogs from the Mayhew Animal Home, and I’m delighted to be reading again at their winter fundraiser for the cats, dogs and rabbits at the centre. St John’s Wood Church is a beautiful venue and a great place to spend a cold evening, listening to carols, warming up with mulled wine and raising some money for abandoned animals at the same time!”
Mayhew CEO, Caroline Yates, said: “It was fantastic that once again our celebrity friends decided to join us for Christmas and celebrate the holidays by taking part in our event to raise much needed funds for the Home. The Mayhew is very lucky to have such wonderful support from Sue, Anthony, Jenny and Miranda.”
