A 21-year old man from Wavertree, Merseyside has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the tragic death of four-year-old John Paul Massey in Liverpool earlier this week.

The boy was mauled by a pit bull type dog. His grandmother fought to save him but suffered injuries which hospitalised her.

Police in Merseyside have gone on record to apologise after it emerged procedures were not followed when reports were made to them about the presence of potentially illegal dogs at the premises.

Police said the arrested 21-year-old, who has not been named, would be interviewed later.

im a glad this man has been arrested. if these idiots realised that they might get a jail term for turning a magnificent, loyal, loving breed into a liability, then maybe they will stop thinking that a pitbull is a better alternative to carrying a knife.
