Hi Crazy Canine,

The previous article you refer too can be found here: http://www.dogmagazine.net/archives/339/want-to-send-a-dog-to-its-death-get-qualified-to-do-so-in-240-minutes/ Or you can find it in the box at the top of the page entitled "popular articles" where it is the most popular one. I think that alone shows how important a subject it is to us mere mortals.

Regarding an organisation for the ordinary dog owner....Stranger things have happened :)

I posted a reply when your article first appeared that seems to have disappeared into the ether of the internet?

I have started to notice a lurching forward towards some kind of breed specific legislation through a variety of articles and TV reports by those organisations that seem to 'rule' over us mere mortal dog owners through the government.

The RSPCA 'hoody' dog video in conjunction with the Mayor of London's office and of course the Metropolitan Police and Wandsworth council probably also via the DDLAG (or whatever it is called)and the DDASG which as you write has Kennel Club involvement (and therefore other major dog/animal charity invovlement)all seem to be pushing for some kind of BSL type restrictions.

The RSPCA et al 'Hoody Dog' video actually mentioned dogs that have not been outlawed by any government of whatever political hue, surely by mentioning Rottweilers, SBT's and Bull Mastiffs, this amalgamation of organisations both charitable and governmental are advocating BSL? If they claim that they are not, then what are they advocating?

Who is out there (who has no specific agenda either political or personal) who can help dogs and their owners against the implementation of BSL (I of course do not include Deed Not Breed as not helping, because they work non stop fighting BSL)

The Liberal Democrats seem to have jumped on to the political point/vote scoring bandwagon with them calling for a review of the Dangerous Dogs Act, but only to look at adding more breeds to it rather than reviewing it and saying this is rubbish get rid of it!

Without introducing political division into the debate through the pages of the K9 Magazine site, I have always mistrusted the Liberals/Liberal Democrats. They seem to always be hanging on to the coat tails of other parties for their policies, the call for reviewing the DDA and adding more breeds is a prime example of them doing so now. They obviously do not know how many dog owners and their families there are out and about in the UK and therefore potential voters?

If some other organisation is out there that can represent the ordinary dog owner in the 'street or 'park' please let yourself be known, us dog owners seem to need all the help we can get at the moment!
