The Petplan Special Recognition Award, which forms part of the Petplan Veterinary Awards now in its eighth year, will be presented by last year s winner, celebrity TV vet Marc Abraham at a glittering awards ceremony on 3rd April in Birmingham.
Commenting on last year s achievement, Marc says: ‘With so much more information available to today s pet owner than ever before, the media now plays a major part in influencing and promoting ‘responsible pet ownership’. I’m proud to have been recognised by the British public for my work in this field, educating pet-owners and most importantly, making a positive impact on many animals’ lives. If Joe Inglis wins it, I will immediately cancel my Petplan policy and take my business elsewhere. Any vet that condones the genocide of a breed purely based on how it looks should not receive this award. For those of you who haven’t seen his interview on The One Show speaking about ‘Pit Bull type’ dogs he said of all Bull Breeds that they have no place in society and that no one wants them. From someone in such a public view, I would have expected him to have been more impartial and perhaps chosen his words more carefully.
I thought vets were supposed to care for all animals, if not then why is he doing the job?
