Dangerous Dogs, BSL, Media and a Rottweiler who Bumped Her Head on TV
In keeping with the last month’s seemingly incessant coverage of dangerous dog laws, breed specific legislation and media coverage, I thought it might be apt to give credit to some of the media outlets who allowed the issue to be debated fairly and robustly without resorting to scare tactics or rampant, hyped up anti-dog sentiment. So, as can be viewed below, thanks to Sky News, GMTV, BBC News 24. There may be some non DDA clips in amongst this lot, so apologies, but Mia – my own Rottweiler – would appreciate any messages of sympathy after somewhat carelessly appearing on GMTV to ‘defend the honour’ of her breed and ended up bumping her head on a coffee table, thus managing to disprove the ‘devil dog’ tag but not quite managing to escape accusations that Rottweilers are prone to acts of extreme clumsiness.

Well done on your TV appearances and your ongoing campaign to reintroduce some sanity into the whole shooting match whilst getting your point across about the need for some form of test for dog owners.
Thought the Sky News debate was good, the guy from the Times must have some kind of problem with dogs the way he was going on? Then again though if that is what some journalists think about dogs, no wonder you get the sensationalist reporting whenever there is an incident with dogs.
Thought the headline I saw in a red top that said words to the effect ‘Girl has face ripped off by dog’ should join your rogues gallery of disgraceful anti-dog reporting.
Keep up the good work.
