Dogs to Combat DVD Bootlegging?

SKY NEWS is today reporting that dogs are being trained to detect counterfeit DVDs as Britain turns up the heat on bootleggers on the back of the largest ever pirate DVD discovery earlier this week.

A dogs are being utilised more and more by people and organisations keen to harness the incredible power of the dogs nose, counterfeit goods dectection is just the latest string to a bow which already includes cancer detection, drug detection, bomb discovery, bird flu prevention amongst the less earth shattering skill of being able to hear a fridge door opening from 500 yards.

What’s next in store for man’s best friend as we discover how to utilise their amazing talents to learn new skills which aid us in everything from the war against terror to advances in early cancer detection?

    I find it extremely hard to believe that a dog can tell the difference between a bootleg and an original. The discs are composed of the same basic materials. Is this an April Fool’s joke 8 days late?
