Canine Partners Announces New Chief Executive:  Terry Knott will step down to be replaced by Andy Cook

Wednesday 8th July 2009, West Sussex: Canine Partners (Registered Charity No. 803680) today announces that Terry Knott is stepping down at the end of September as Chief Executive, after 7 years at the helm. He is to be replaced by Andy Cook.

During his time as Chief Executive, Terry has made a tremendous contribution to the ongoing success of Canine Partners. Over the past 7 years, the charity has tripled its output of highly skilled assistance dogs, establishing its National Training Centre at Midhurst in West Sussex and a network of active satellites across Great Britain, including development into Scotland.

Says Terry Knott “For the past seven years I have had one of the best jobs in the world. It has been a joy and a privilege to work for Canine Partners with such a dedicated team, but now is the time to move on and allow my successors to carry forward the banner. The charity has a very bright future”.

Andy Cook is widely known and respected throughout the assistance dog world and brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm, which has already benefited the Charity, since his appointment as Director of Operations in 2006.

Chairman of Trustees, Simon Clare comments, “We pay tribute for the tremendous contribution that Terry Knott has made to Canine Partners. He has dedicated his time and energy into helping move the charity forward and we wish him all the best in his retirement. At the same time, we are delighted that Andy Cook will be taking up the role of Chief Executive and we look forward to an exciting new chapter in the development of Canine Partners.”

    At long last!

I think everyone at Canine Partners and all of it’s supporters who genuinely care about the charity must surly be so pleased that David Newberry and now Terry Knott have at last stepped down. The irreparable damage they has done to the image of Canine Partners over the last couple of years by pursuing their personnel vendetta against Allen Parton, Endal and EJ (Endal Junior). This really has to be the most disastrous PR exercises in the Canine Partner’s history that could have ever been orchestrated by the then chairman and Terry knott.

Lets hope these new chaps coming in can right some terrible past wrongs and injustices. Quite recently, as has appeared in the main stream media, it is very apparent and quite poignant, that a true reflection of the esteem that Allen, Endal and EJ are held in by the public’s heart and these opinions are ones that Canine Partners would be wise to heed!
