Breaking: Death Row Dog Bruce is Given Stay of Execution
We have learned that yesterday a Barrister attended High Court for judicial review in the case of Bruce, the dog who has been condemned to die despite having a home offered to him in a country where he would allowed to live happily. The counsel has granted an undertaking that until every avenue of the law has been explored, Bruce will not be destroyed. What this means is that Bruce is ’safe’ but only for NOW.
His life still hangs in the balance while ‘every legal avenue is explored’. So please, do not give up in your efforts to make your voice heard. Bruce should not even be where he is now. He has a home waiting. He has NEVER done anything wrong. He has not been deemed a ‘dangerous dog’ he has been deemed an ‘illegal’ dog based on a completely flawed piece of legislation.

I cannot believe this could happen in 2009 it is more like a story coming out of medieval times
one is ashamed to be a human being .
how on earth did such legislation come to existence
it seems whose who legislated were too busy to do a proper job in the first place.

That injury appearing in a month on Bruce’s nose looks like it could be caused by a blow to me. I believe it didn’t happen by itself. Treatment would be a humane act.

Please help me understand how the legislatures can not listen to the neighbours and people who know the affectionate behaviour of Bruce, and see first hand the many, many pictures of affectionate Staffordshire Terriers with children and adults. At home, Bruce lived in harmony with another dog. He is not dangerous. Bruce was a handsome dog now reduced to sores and weight loss. I despair at his treatment at the hands of humans. Please, if Bruce is alive, show compassion and LET HIM GO HOME!

I am praying everyday and night for Bruce. I have signed the petition, passed it on to others, wrote letters to the press and government officials. This is awful what is happening to him and never should have been in allowed. He should be livng in better conditions that alone should be illegal to allow him to be injured and sick. Please let him go home and be a happy dog with his family. He and his family deserve a very happy ending. He is a loving and beautiful dog.

Bruce seems to have pulled on everyones heart string.
I just wish all the other dogs who’ve the misfortune of looking like pit types facing destruction in rescues up and down the country also had the same support and publicity. I truly hope Bruce is reunited with his owners and the public who’ve been motivated by his story continue to speak out about BSL hopefully saving the lives of the innocent ‘type’ dogs without homes and owners to fight their corner.

Bruce and Shannon, the entire world is watching this play out. You and he have been on the minds and hearts of millions of sentient being lovers. Don’t give up! NO HOLDS BAR FOR THIS ONE!!! Bruce and many other sentients are on my mind and in my heart. WE WON”T GIVE UP, for Bruce and others like Bruce who have done no wrong and was just in the WRONG PLACE-WRONG TIME!!! THIS IS CRAZY, UNBELIEVEABLE EVEN. HE IS BEING PUNISHED FOR NOTHING. THIS MAKES MY STOMACH TURN. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE TO COME IN AND TAKE A DOG FROM HIS HOME WHEN HE DID NOTHING WRONG. THEN THEY HAVE THE NERVE NOT TO TAKE CARE OF HIM. THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH ANIMAL CRULETY. GIVE THE DOG BACK AND CHANGE YOUR IDIOTIC RULES. I am appalled at the state Bruce is in.who is meant to be looking after him?lets all hope for the happy ending that he and his loving family deserve.this case just goes to prove what a mad world we live in when a loved family pet is treated in this way.Bruce we all wish you well and the safe return to your family soon.
