Amy Winehouse has been banned by staff for keeping stray dogs in her St Lucia home. Reports have suggested that staff had to fumigate the place after it was crawling with fleas.

She is currently living in the luxurious Cotton Bay complex and often brings stray dogs she has found on the beach back to her accommodation.

Management at the resort are worried that a flea outbreak may effect other guests in the resort.

Staff initially turned a blind eye to the number of dogs she was keeping with her, but now have put a complete ban on her keeping animals.

A source told the Sun: “Management initially turned a blind eye to what Amy was doing.

“But she’s adopted about five or six dogs now.

“They’re all strays, without the proper vaccinations and they all have fleas.

“The management did not want the risk of any of the fleas infecting any of the other rooms.

“So they got a firm of fumigators in to blitz Amy’s quarters and told her not to bring any more animals on site.”

Im not sure what to say really! I for one would be the type of person to help any dog that came my way, but at the same time, certain countries have certain views on dogs and I can well imagine there was quite an uproar at Amys Dog rescue she had set up. As good as her intentions may have been, for the dogs own benefit she should have given them some anti flea treatment if she had the intention of keeping them. I think you could get easily out of your depth in a situation like that, rescue one and you’ll end up trying to rescue them all! and to be honest, in countires where street dogs are rife, most of the time the dogs are pretty happy with themseleves! although that then raises the question of neutering etc…….its a tough on to answer for anyone with dog welfare being of foremost importance. A ban on her owning dogs is pretty harsh, a ban from taking in street dogs to an apartment yes, but not a life ban on ownership!

I just walked past Amy Winehouse and her Pitbull with her big security team and I have to say I was shocked at how small she is in real life, she looks normal on the telly. Amy luvs dogs and rescues them so I think she’s a good person and a great singer……
