A puppy was flushed down the toilet when 4 year old toddler Daniel Blair decided that his Cocker Spaniel ‘needed a wash’.

His mother Alison, realised the dog had gone missing and asked her child where the dog was. He told her the dog was muddy and placed it in the toilet to clean it and pulled the chain to give it a wash. She thought the dog would not survive the ordeal and ”assumed he was dead”.

”I went into the garden, managed to lift up the drain cover and was amazed to hear him crying”.

She quickly called the fire brigade and RSPCA but they were unable to reach him in the pipes. She called out Dyno-Rod, a plumbing company who were able to locate the dog with special cameras – he was lay upside down in a pipe 20 yards away.

They carefully nudged him towards the nearest manhole cover where they were then able to reach him.

Miss Blair told the Mirror: ”I never thought a dog could survive being flushed down the loo. He’s a real little fighter.”

Daniel has since apologised and has said ”I had to give him a wash. I’m so, so sorry. I won’t do it again.”

How stupid can one be to leave a 4yr old with a puppy? The kid is oviously not mature enough to care for/handle an animal. Even the most basic books on either dog or on kid education warn NEVER to leave little children alone with dogs.
If a fighting dog rips off the face or the arm of a 4yr old, there’ll be public outrage, stressing the neglect of repsonsiblity by the dog’s owner. Or claiming harsher laws. But if a dog is almost killed by an act of negligence, this is ment to be funny? I mean, come on, a 4yr old left alone with a dog. Why is there no outrage, once in the name of an animal??

Of course it isn’t meant to be funny, it’s meant to let people know the news. ‘Dog flushed down toilet’ does sound funny when you first hear it, but where is the evidence that anyone thinks it is funny on this site? And, it isn’t leaving a 4 year old alone with a dog, there’s no evidence that the 4 year old was just left alone, as he is now mature enough to be, and either came to find the dog, or the dog came to find him. So, your theory that a 4 year old was left alone with the dog is just an assumption. As for your question on outrage, there was obviously no lasting harm done to the dog, which is a miracle. Also, it has been settled as an accident, as the boy was only 4.

NB. Just to clear up the queries, when I say the boy is ‘now mature enough’, I only mean mature enough to left on his own; this might have caused confusion.
