Drug Trial Error ‘Killed Dog’ First

As 6 men lie seriously ill in hospital following a life-threatening reaction to a drug given to them in a clinical trial, it has been claimed that a dog died in an earlier testing stage of the drug.

According to a lawyer representing one of the men currently on a life support machine, the drug had previously been tested on dogs, monkeys and rabbits — and one of the dogs had since died.

The firm behind the drug test has issued a strong denial that any animals had suffered in the testing procedure.
