This young girl obviously has an extremely spiteful nature which has been allowed to develop unseen by her parents or teachers. I would like to think that if members of the RSPCA talk to her, that they will be able to make a breakthrough and find a caring heart beneath her damaged character and help this girl to reform and become a better person than she is now. It is doubtful that this will happen but there is always hope and children sometimes miss out on being taught about compassion towards animals through their parents or grandparents or from teachers or peers. Animal welfare is a subject woefully and largely ignored in the school curriculum yet it is vital that children learn about kindness towards others, human and animal, at an early age so that they do not become the abusers of tomorrow.

The video footage is heartbreaking to watch and any normal caring person would feel only revulsion towards a child capable of such wickedness. People have expressed a wish to see the girl punished physically but the enduring and far greater victory for our society and future generations and for the girl herself and also for any animals she comes into contact with, would be for this child to become a success story and an ambassador for anti-cruelty.

It's a tall order but if the parents, teachers, even the Police and the RSPCA could teach her how to behave around animals and respect their needs then it would prevent a repeat of this distressing behaviour.

I hope someone can help because if not this girl may continue to be an animal abuser all her life. It is well known that many violent offenders tortured animals before turning their anger towards people. I hope this young person will not become yet another violent adult in our society.

It only takes one good example, one success story, one step forward, to inspire thousands to behave in a compassionate way towards the voiceless animals we share our world with.

This young woman, (she is clearly not an innocent child), needs more than a good talking to and more than being grounded. One of the other commentors mentioned that she should be made to work with animals who have been victims of abuse to see what her behavior leads to, I agree, and then she should have to work with kids who have been abused, so she can learn how it feels to be treated that way, and then she should be forced to visit with sociopathic criminals who started their abusive behaviors being cruel to animals to see where they've ended up. Personally, I'd give her the beating of her life, and hold her down so the dog could bite her. She certainly deserves that much. She makes me sick, and I believe these are signs that the girl is mentally unbalanced, and should be monitored closesly. Please, don't let her walk anyones dog ever again, and pay close attention to your cat. She's a spoiled, sick little brat.

@sallyanne rowe, I agree with the idea the girl needs punishing. She also needs to do supervised community service for, say 12 months, in a pound, so she is forced to see some of the results of human cruelty. At 13, this female is not a child. She is a young woman and should be able to understand the horrendous nature of her actions (I would so like it if it were possible for her to be subjected to the same sort of assault for the same length of time! Just dreaming).
