K9 Magazine, the British-based lifestyle magazine for dog lovers, today announces it is to go monthly with a multi-media, digital edition of the popular pet title.
Launching in May 09, K9 Magazine’s all-new digital will encompass a fully interactive reader/viewer/listener experience bringing the subject matter to life with great articles, videos, audio and the same great editorial insight readers have come to expect from the printed edition – which has won thousands of admirers thanks to world exclusive interviews with celebrity dog lovers such as Mariah Carey as well as producing headline making articles on social issues relating to dogs.

The move to fully embrace ‘second generation’ digital editions comes as K9 Magazine grows in popularity amongst an international audience of canine enthusiasts. K9Magazine.com and DogMagazine.net, the magazines two web destinations, has shown a massive growth in the number of readers from English speaking regions outside of the United Kingdom.
Existing K9 Magazine subscribers will receive the monthly digital edition for free for the first 6 months and the launch edition will have a total of 100,000 readers.

Ryan O’Meara, who launched K9 Magazine in 2001 via his pet publishing firm K9 Media Ltd, will be the editor-in-chief of the all-new digital edition.
The magazine will feature audio interviews with celebrity dog owners as well as videos on dog health, training, diet and other lifestyle issues important to dog owners.
“This is a natural progression for K9 Magazine”, says O’Meara.
“We took a good long look at the publishing industry in general and it’s inescapable that the future lies in digital, multi-media productions as the very best platform to make your content come alive. By committing to digital media and fully embracing the numerous new opportunities this method of publishing brings, we know we’ll be able to deliver far more to a greater number of dog lovers via a medium which is cleaner, greener, more efficient and capable of engaging readers on a whole new level.
It’s like the best bits of TV, radio and print all rolled in to one.”
The move to take K9 Magazine monthly is accompanied by the announcement of the first ever annual British Pet Industry Awards. The awards event will be held in London at a top (pet friendly) hotel and will recognise and honour the people and paws that make a difference in the lives of pet owners.
