The Kennel Club’s venture in to the online broadcasting space for Crufts 2009 was heralded a success by many of the people who watched the round the clock event coverage, despite some reported teething troubles with the technology. The production company behind the live web cast announced that 145,000 logged on to view the UK’s flagship dog show event.

Jeff Foulser, chairman of Sunset + Vine, said: “It’s especially pleasing when you consider the time constraints, having only been engaged by the Kennel Club last month to produce coverage of Crufts, in addition to the fact that this was the first ever live webcast of the show.

“We certainly hope it’s the start of a strong new relationship with Crufts but obviously there is still a lot to build on. The Kennel Club will be reviewing the whole process from this year and look to improve the service further for 2010.”
