Note this is only a question and novice speculation

Pitbull Breeders vs. Pitbull Fighters
good vs. bad or so that is always what I've been told

So let's say an organization busts a Pitbull breeder and then he is acquitted of charges. So he's innocent right?

You look at footage of the yard where the dogs are held. (in my version no one euthanizes the dogs as they do in most cases)

There are let's say 50 dogs attached to 4-foot, 100-pound chains living in their own filth and numbers spray painted on the doghouses. Already even without the fight it looks like a cruelty situation.

But it's not illegal because this breeder has everyone sign a disclaimer when they purchase a dog that states "they will not use the dog for illegal purposes". But someone pays thousands of dollars for a puppy from some of the worst kept dogs you've seen. And then there is a list of dogs from the yard like this:

                                                             Dirty Harry's Yard

Snuggles is an extremely game bitch who killed a dog in a kennel fight and ate all but it's tail from the yard of Dirty Harry bred with "Tonto" - who is a great head fighter. He can stay out of trouble while he dishes out some heavy punishment to his opponents head. "Tonto" is lightning fast and a strong skillful fighter and able to control his opponent. He leans on his rival and once it is tired and weak, he goes to the throat. In rolls he can handle dogs of any size with ease. He was bred by Nancy Reagan, raised by Brooke Shields and won a great match for Rocky Balboa and the guy just busted we'll call him Fred Flinstone. Fred handled and conditioned him for the match against a dog named Scooby Doo. Scooby was a real killer, but Tonto beat Scooby in 2 hours.... Tonto loves to fight...etc, etc, etc. more linage history and details of fights dogs have won...etc. etc.

So these dogs are being bred and sold to who? A suburban mom whose little girl asked for a pup from a game bitch and a head fighter for Christmas?

I guess you could say show people and weight pulls, but generally fighters don't like weight pulls or dog shows they understand, but show people and weight people and the people from the group 'responsible blue dog politics' stop Pitbull bans(which is good), Stop tethering limits, stop laws that allow officers to go on the property of puppymillers and breeders, and anything that could hurt their investment so they do like them.
And some of above 'almost' mentioned groups have interests in the breeding and fighting of these dogs, for instance in 'Fred Flinstone's case when he was recently busted and found guilty for dogfighting, a website administrator employed by one of the groups posted something almost like this, " Dag Nabbit! I just sent 2 of my dogs to Fred to Stud and now they probably confiscated them."

But my question is....why would someone have 50 to 150 dogs chained in the yard & breeding dogs that have from line after line of vicious fighting dogs?

If Dirty Harry wanted to keep Tonto's bloodline he could do so within a few litters. But that's not the case,he is studding him out for let's say $25,000 and breeding him in the yard producing I don't know how many pups.

But then I find out from people who say they would never fight their dogs that gameness and breeding are important because they make a better dog for agility, temperament, better with children, etc.

Hmmm? I don't know, that's why I'm asking here?

Isn't it true that the major breeders are in the rural areas, but the fights are going on every weekend at other underground locations?

And then you overhear one of Dirty Harry's friends saying, "You don't need to fight Dirty Harry's dogs to see if they are game. One of those bad boys brakes off the chain and that's enough right there to see if those they are game."

What's that? Does it mean they are attacking the other dogs on the spot? So if you take this dog home and use it for something else....is it going to do the same thing? OK there goes the gameness for good dog theory because it's going to make the park outing a little risky.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. Because from a novice's viewpoint it looks, feels, tastes and smells like these dogs are being bred to fight and are being fought. No matter how you slice it, the breeder knows what he is breeding the dogs for, but darn it...he cannot control what the people he sells to do with their own dogs. And just think of all the money and pain.

Dog fighting is an addiction and breeding stronger, meaner, gamer dogs and seeing and hearing about their wins is an addiction as well.

I am also a person who is often laughed at for caring too much about animals, being a dog owner myself of a staffordshire bull terrior i am horrified when hearing these stories, it also gives bull terriors a bad name, i have never owned a more loving caring obedient and loyal dog, how can i help stamp out dog fighting?? thanks
