The Kennel Club Doesn’t Want Pedigree Dogs Exposed Filmmaker to ‘Spoil Their Day’
The Kennel Club, in an interview with The Times, has revealed it denied a press pass to Passionate Productions (the company behind award-nominated documentary Pedigree Dogs Exposed) as it didn’t want “them there spoiling our day.”
In a further foot-in-mouth moment, Kennel Club secretary Caroline Kisko astonishngly made the following comment:
“We all think dog shows are under threat. There is a view among some animal welfare groups like the RSPCA that dog shows are bad. But if you don’t have dog shows what is the incentive for people to change the way they breed dogs?
Incentives for better breeding, let me think, let me think.
Incentives, incentives, incentives….erm, OH. I know. I thought of one – how about if the incentive was, instead of a prize, that the dog lived longer, free from crippling disease and hereditary illness?
Incentive enough?
I hope so. I’d hate all this talk of health to spoil anyone’s day.
A quick note, in case this blog is still online and being viewed by someone in the year 2050 – yes, this is/was written in February 2009. I hope your dogs are fairing better.

Yet another journalist denied press accreditation by the Kennel Club. Last year they refused accreditiation to a photographer because they had an issue with his boss!
What a mess, censorship of those who dont agree with you shows just how truly pathetic and unwilling to address issues the Kennel Club bosses are, this from Caroline Kisko is a corker:
“We see Crufts as a big celebration of dogs and we don't want them there spoiling our day and I don't think breed people would be pleased to see them there.”
Rather than moving on, the Kennel Club is highlighting the issue but illuminating it with searchlights and a massive neon arrow sign!
Wonder if this was decided over brandies in the boardroom?
