Abandoned by Alcoholic Mother, Girl is Raised by Dogs
The Sun Website has reported a girl was raised by dogs and found naked and crawling on all fours in Ufa, central Russia, after being neglected by her alcoholic mother.
The girl only known as Madina, had gnawed at bones and ate scraps off the floor, growled at strangers and clung to the animals for warmth, whilst her mother ignored her and went drinking with friends.
The Sun reports how her mother Anna would go missing for days at a time and leave Madina with a pack of dogs – including the family pet – who had become her best friends.
Social workers found the girl after concerned neighbours alerted them. A social worker said ”The child is angelic but has been deprived of love and care, except from the dogs.”
It is reported that the child only knew the words ‘yes’ and ‘no’ and was shunned by other children. Madina has now been taken into care by social services and health experts say the girl is mentally and physically well despite her ordeal.
Her mother has insisted that she has not neglected her child and she told police, ”I do look after my daughter.”
