First let me say that it absolutely should not be allowed that ANYONE has the right to remove your dog away from you unless and until it has been proven to be a danger to society and all measures to keep that animal away from the public have been exhausted.

Secondly, the comment about the police being "above the law they are supposed to uphold" is ignorant to no end. The reality of that is they are more so scrutinized at everything they do BECAUSE they are the police. I bet you don't say that when you need one. If your family is hurt or you've been robbed or raped or your kids are being hunted on the internet by predators. These are the daily realities of what they deal with, not seizing animals. There are always bad apples in every occupation. For the most part though, these people risk their lives everyday for peanuts let alone zero respect for what they do. I'm plain sick of hearing about the falsehoods associated with them. Try getting educated about a subject before you so flippantly make a comment about things you don't understand.

Amanda

Your dealing with the establishment, the RSPCA and others are not going to give the police a hard time especially the Metropolitan Police, who would help them with their obsession with 'hoody dogs'. c Wonder what would happen if 'hoodies' suddenly changed from SBT type dogs and started daring to take their dogs for a walk and they had Poodles or Lhasa Apso's, would certain London councils, the RSPCA and the Metropolitan Police have all these initiatives set up?

Perthaps all these organsiations are practising BSL-discrimination, what do I know?

The death of one dog whilst held would be a cause for independent investigation, but one to two dogs on average per week dying from illness is a scandal. What a disgrace and where are the national organisaions when it comes to standing up for dogs, forget the title 'dangerous dog' a dog is a dog, it deserves to receive proper care and attention not be locked up in a sub standard kennels and forgotten about.

How the heck is that possible, these contractors do not have the legal authority or the skills to ID such dogs. Yet again the name Animal Wardens Ltd rears its ugly head. If some police forces employ Dog Legislation Officers who after an intensive course lasting a couple of weeks are the ones who make the call regarding whether a dog is seized, I truly hope the areas where this crew operate are DLO led and they are not making the calls themselves. If they are, they are truly out of control and are running amok acting outside the law. Whatever police forces allow them to do this work, you really do need to reign the dangerous idiots in!

I have also heard via petparliament.com that Animal Wardens ltd is responsible for identifying Dangerous dogs. The notorious untrained dog warden service that is also state funded and responsible for shipping unwanted dogs up north to be Murdered, Anyone know anything about this?

Ryan, rightly you comment that the police work for us, but really the police are above the law they are supposed to uphold. We live in a police state if your a dog owner with a dog that may excite a Metropolitan Police person to seize it due to its alleged type or on the basis of its looks and hold it for months in their minging kennels. Perhaps the Met Police can call their DD kennels Guantanamo 2.

Its a shocking situation, what the hell is going on with dogs dying and coming out in a state, do they think well it's a 'dangerous dog' it doesn't matter, that's what it looks like to me, it's about time someone was brought before the courts for this and i'm writing to my MP tonight to ask questions
