Whilst i see where you are going with this, i also see where the Kennel Club stand (not that i fully agree with either of you!) I run dog training classes and in my area we have a huge increase in labradoodles and cockerpoos (bought at extortionate prices!) more than 'an offchance' of the labradoodles are displaying signs of HD and have to be guided to go to the vets for a check up , ususally followed by xray and confirmation of HD whilst to my knowledge 4 of the cockerpoos have (probably genetic) eye problems, this is in only a small dog training club, how many more are out there?, surely they don't all turn up only to my classes!!! so in a way the KC is right, all breeders should breed responsibly not just the KC registered breeders, what about getting on the case of these people who breed the 'designer' type dogs for huge amounts of money without doing the relevant health tests? or the people who try to breed the most unsuitable crosses, ie the 'Dollie' - dalmation x collie, a nightmare cross for most 'normal' housholds, these are total outcrosses that still have the health problems, non of which have anything to do with the KC or registration policies
