purebreds are treated like royalty. unfortunately, they do suffer because they are beautiful and really cant understand or care about being injured. im sure they get depressed often when they meet cowboys.

There may well be some good reasons for making it known which breeds makeup a crossbreed because there is a risk that they will inherit some of the breed specific heritable conditions especially those that are polygenic such as CHD. This report is far from being a rehash of anything for those that have bothered to digest it seriously. It is an extremely well put together summary backed up with references for all the current key issues. Well done to those who took part and to the RSPCA for commissioning it. I am heartened to read that it has the support in principle from the KC. Perhaps this signals intent to all work together.

What do you mean I'm being naive????

Dobermann/greyhound cross sounds very handsome indeed.

"Do the RSPCA really know their breeds of dog ?
The report mentions the "Labradoodle" and "Cockapoo" which are cross breeds not recognised KC registered breeds therefore should not have a breed name ?"

The RSPCA did not write the report.
I'm sure those International experts in Genetics, Behaviour, Veterinary Science & Medicine and Neuroscience will be grateful for your exercise in pedantics.

Another example of attempted misdirection in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Dog-breeders are not dog-lovers or they would be unable to breed a dog that cannot live a healthy and happy life. Many sick dog-breeders are supported by sick vets who make large sums of money out of the suffering of dogs. What sort of a society do we live in where dog owners do not care if their animals are unhealthy or in pain? CAMPAIGN TO BRING BACK THE MONGREL! Mongrels are healthy dogs.

Do the RSPCA really know their breeds of dog ?
The report mentions the "Labradoodle" and "Cockapoo" which are cross breeds not recognised KC registered breeds therefore should not have a breed name ?
It also mentions the "English bulldog" and "British Bulldog" when in fact the correct breed name is just "Bulldog". My dog is a cross breed Doberman X Greyhound does this make him a greydob or a manhound, no it makes him a cross breed!
Do they really expect to be taken seriously when they cannot even get the basics right ?
My opinion is this is yet another report put together just to make an instituation look good.
I see nothing here but a re-hash of old arguments.
