Cavalier Clubs Get Their PR Advice (From The Kremlin)

Something to ponder:

Why is it that two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed clubs have initiated a new process that disallows new members from having ANY voting rights on issues for a period of 2 YEARS?

K9 Magazine has seen documentary evidence of new rules which prevent new members from being able to have their voices heard by way of a vote on important issues related to the activities of two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed clubs – which include health and welfare initiatives.

Which begs the question, when the Cavalier clubs were trying to raise money for PR advice, did they instead take a detour from that path and take in a seminar on how to control their affairs from this man?

“Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspect and must be opposed.” ~ Barry Goldwater

It’s democracy folks, but not as we know it!

“We can never be sure that the opinion we are endeavoring to stifle is a false opinion; and even if we were sure, stifling it would be an evil still.” ~ John Stuart Mill

    Bet

May I politely suggest this to you? Put the health and welfare of the Cavalier KC Spaniel at the centre of your world. Then all of these issues would be given their proper perspective. There is no hierarchy amongst people who truly care about the welfare of dogs, it cannot be divided between breeders and pet owners. There are those who truly care about the well being of CKCS like Margaret Carter and Carol Fowler and there are similarly those who care more for red rosettes and breed standards – the latter too have both breeders and pet owners in their ranks. Start desgning clubs around the central issue of health and welfare and all this who can who can't vote nonsense will at last be consigned to where it belongs.

    Philippa,

You should be happy now ,the UK CKCS CLUB now have no Chairman, Vice- Chairman or Secretary, all because of Margaret Carter !!!

No I dont feel like answering you politely.

So many of us had such hopes about Dr Blott's Research at the AHT into MVD and SM .Will that ever get off the ground now due to what Margaret Carter has done to the Breed Club.

Maybe she will have a Cavalier Parent Club , but will it only be her and her Merry Band who will be in it !!

  3. Ryan O'Meara says:

I can certainly say that I'm happy. If the KCS's future is to be entrusted to the likes of Margaret it has a much brighter future than being dragged in to the gutter. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Things are slowly but surely starting to look up for pedigree dogs in the UK. It alarms me how many people STILL can't get over the politics of personality to see that health and health alone is what should be prioritised – but it is quite revealing.

    Philippa,

I forgot to say about what has happened to-day in the CKCS CLUB, could be like the Receivers being called in.

The Kennel Club step in, Put EVERYTHING on HOLD ,Finances are Frozen ,CC's with-drawn etc .

Did Margaret Carter realize ,when those Highly Respected Club Officers Resigned ,that this could be the outcome of her actions ?

I don't know what will happen now , will Margaret Carter and her Merry Band be hoping to run the Parent Club ,.

  5. Bet Hargreaves says:

I would go much further and say that there should be Two Types of Membership for Cavalier Clubs .

A full Membership for Cavalier Breeders ,who are involved with the Health and Welfare of Cavaliers through Breeding Cavaliers ,

Then an Associate Membership ,for Pet Cavalier Owners like me , who are not involved im Breeding Cavaliers.

This is carried out in other Cavalier Clubs World Wide .

  6. Bet Hargreaves says:

This should please you Ryan, and all the others who have given Exaggerated Claims ,in particular Jemima Harrison in her TV Film about the Figures in the Cavalier Breed of SM .

The Veterinary Profession are going to be involved in a Survey of MVD and SM in the Cavalier Breed

    Bet Hargreaves

  7. John Lilburne says:

    Ryan,

Totally agree with what you write, people cannot see beyond the hero worship of committee officers who should realise that this is an opportunity to move forward but take the choice of walking away (which is their personal choice)

Each to their own but surely if they had stayed to resolve matters, they would be even more 'highly respected' by those who can see they are working for the benefit of all CKCS?

Teddies and prams comes to mind, good luck to Margaret Carter and her people.

  8. Bet Hargreaves says:

    Ryan ,
I was so distressed to read your petty comment .

    You mention bad rubbish,
I dont know you ,nor do I wish to ,but I suggest that you get your facts right

You just have'nt known that it was due to Mrs L Jupp ,the Chairman ,who was able to get the MVD Cavalier Heart Research off the ground 20 years ago.

Long before M Carter was ever heard about .

    Bet Hargreaves

  9. folly says:

ryan i'm so pleased that you chose the barry goldwater quote as it fits margarets actions to a 't'

  10. folly says:

as for the comments on voting rights, anyone who wants to be a genuine cavalier club member will not have a problem with the voting rights!
