Dangerous Dogs Debate Attracts Huge Interest
September 13, 2007 by Neil Burton
The National Dog Warden Association has had to suspend bookings for the forthcoming two day seminar on dangerous dogs and dog control scheduled for the 25th & 26th October 2007 in Birmingham.
President Sue Bell said that she had taken the unprecedented step due to the exceptional demand for delegate places, ‘in all the years of running similar seminars, NDWA has never had to put a halt on bookings six weeks before the seminar takes place’ she commented.
It shows the current level of interest in dog control and dangerous dog issues in the United Kingdom at present.
The range of speakers offer literally something for everyone involved in local authority dog control and of particular interest is the DEFRA speaker who should be announcing the commencement date for the handover of responsibility for stray dogs from the police solely to local councils. Other speakers will be giving presentations on dog control health and safety, partnership working and the Animal Welfare Act.
Both, Deed Not Breed and the Merseyside Police Dog Unit who were involved in the Merseyside dog amnesty will also be sharing the same platform discussing dangerous dog issues.
Renowned dog law expert Trevor Cooper will also be carrying out a presentation on dangerous dog legislation.
