I have two labradoodles and we have met more than our share of PWD's. They are both great dogs, but doodles have more personality. PWD's always seem serious. Doodles are goofy, like living muppets. My doodles LOVE children, I'm not sure about PWDs. I have an F1 (3.5 YO girl) and an F1B (1.3 YO boy), and they are both different, but complement each other very well. I hope they have puppies this spring, if they want to. Regardless, with both dog types, the Obamas need to understand that both of these dog types need jobs that exert energy. We live on Lake Champlain and my dogs jobs are to clean the lake of all floating sticks, when its not frozen, of course. So they get winters off. It think it may be difficult to find either of these dogs in a shelter without behavorial issues... they are so influential at a young age, and they haven't figured out their jobs yet! I can't see how either would have a chance in the white house. Personally, I don't recommend either dog unless it is pretrained, because Bar and Mich won't have time for it. And the the poor dog won't know where its master is.

A caring person goes to a shelter and rescues an animal. Plus, if children are allergic, why not a get a few goldfish instead.
