For the second week running the Marley and Me movie has topped the box office list in the USA.

The film adaptation of the hugely successful book stars Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston.

The former Friends actress has spoken of her personal affection for dogs, saying:

“Men come and go but there really is no relationship like the one you have with a dog – and then they don’t live as long as they should.

You have to say goodbye way too soon. It’s just so sad. It makes me so sad. But their love is unconditional and I love that.”

The Marley and Me film has generated box office receipts of more than $100m (£68.9m).

It took in $24.1m (£16.6m) on its second weekend of release.
