I applaud everyone involved who collectively put all their energies into enabling this llittle pup Alfie to have the chance to undergo such a complicated operation and a BIG thank you to the skill and tenderness of the surgeon who performed the operation. The website was a particulary good idea and of course not forgetting the help from the TV coverage, papers etc; When you discovered that there are still caring compassionate people to be found in this world, I imagine the response must have been particularly uplifting!
Many of you will wholeheartedly agree with Ghandi's quote below, I'm sure ...
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.. I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man"
-- Mahatma Gandhi
I hope Alfie continues to thrive and enjoy his new found stamina and it proves beyond a doubt that the best medicine of all is *LOVE*
Last, but not least ....
"Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." ~Roger Caras
Can you imagine a world without our fellow mortals?
