Please Remember Foggy: The Dog Callously Shot Dead by Cruel Neigbour
December 8, 2008 by Ryan O'Meara
For those who haven’t had the background on this horrendous event.
Foggy was a little Bedlington Terrier who lived with his doting owners in Norfolk.
On August the 1st of this year, Foggy was shot dead by the head of the local parish council who lived next door to Foggy’s owners.

Phil Bishop, a former TV director, claimed in court that Foggy’s barking was disturbing him - a claim absolutely contested in truth by Foggy’s owners - and Bishop’s response was to shoot out of his window, he claims ‘to scare’ Foggy. What actually happened was Foggy was hit and died in his owners arms.
This trauma will never, ever leave the lives of poor Foggy’s owners. How their beloved dog’s life was cruelly ended by a sick, bad tempered animal killer who happened to live next door to them will stay with Foggy’s family forever.
And for absolutely ruining the lives of a pair of loving dog owners and taking the life of an innocent dog, Bishop was given a disgraceful two year conditional discharged ‘because of his age’ (Bishop is 71).
And we wonder why animal cruelty is on the rise in Great Britain?
If courts can not see that the complete lack of regard for the life of an animal and their loving family as displayed by the sick Phil Bishop as well as the devastation and misery their actions heap on people’s lives, then we truly have very little hope or justification to ever call ourselves a nation of animal lovers.
Foggy’s owner has a message (below) for anyone who would like to contribute their feelings.
Please do get involved. This little dog was shot and killed by a bad tempered next door neighbour who walked free from court. What kind of message does that send about how we value the lives of much loved family pets? Please, please have your say and offer any support you can, in Foggy’s memory.

Thank you for supporting our petition earlier this year, ‘Remember Foggy’.
We have some news…
In total, we collected over 3000 signatures from people across the UK and
abroad. We will be submitting these to the Home Secretary via our MP, Norman
Lamb, to push for tighter controls on airguns.
If you live in the UK, you can build momentum behind this cause by writing to
your MP using this website:
With enough letters, the law just might be changed. All that we seek are tighter
restrictions on the purchase and use of airguns - not a blanket ban. A growing
number of children and animals are losing their lives each year from airgun
injuries.
Our own case was heard in a court in North Norfolk last week. The man
responsible for shooting Foggy was fined £1750 for causing unnecessary suffering
to an animal, with a 2 year conditional discharge.

What an absolute disgrace, this Chairman of a Parish Council should be sacked from being on the Parish Council let alone being the Chairman of it! Surely there must be something that can be done against this animal abuser, what about getting his name onto the http://www.petabuse.com website as a petabuser so that at least there will be a public record of this horrendous crime via the internet and local media?
What is ironic is that district and borough councils investigate noise pollution caused by music, shouting, car repairs, machinery and animals, so why could this vile creature not go through the correct channels if there was any kind of noise nuisance?
Ordinary folk like ourselves have to ring the council to complain, obviously this animal abuser just decided that he was too important to ring the council responsible for environmental matters in the area to go through the correct procedure, what an example to set to parishioners, dont bother to follow the law of the land or any kind of procedures, just kill an animal to resolve the issue instead.
Surely the man has resigned from the parish council now, or his fellow councillors have kicked him off, if not why not!
