TV Stars Paul O’Grady & Buster Invite you to Take your Dog to Work

Dog lovers,

Paul O’Grady and his dog BusterI am writing to tell you why I’m supporting this year’s Take Your Dog To Work Day on Friday 14th September.  This is a national fundraising event organised by The Blue Cross animal welfare charity.  Every year they encourage dog owners to take their dogs to work for a day and get us thinking of new ways we can spend more time with our pets.

This year, The Blue Cross is encouraging dog owners to walk their dog during their working day.  The aim is to walk your dog in your lunch hour, or whenever you can take a break, and consider how you can give your dog new walking experiences.

My dogs Buster and Olga are no strangers to my working life.  It’s great having them with me on set – they spend most of their time trying to upstage me and certainly love the attention they get on the show!  Having them around also means that I get out and walk more than I otherwise would.  They can be feisty little characters and need to exercise regularly to keep their minds alert too.

Take Your Dog To Work Day is a great way to give your dog a new experience for the day.  I’ve seen how much my dogs benefit from being around people and they really charm and amuse the guests on my show.  I think this event is a fantastic way to help raise money for the thousands of animals that are rehomed and cared for by The Blue Cross.  Olga was a rescue dog who had been rejected by her mother and she was only a puppy when I adopted her.  You would never know that she’d had such a sorry start in life as she thinks she’s leader of the pack now, although Buster is still top dog.

If you’re able and willing, why not join The Blue Cross and take part in this year’s event.  Registration is free – all you have to do is ask work colleagues or friends and family to sponsor you for taking part.  For further information on the event and tips to help you get started visit www.takeyourdogtoworkday.co.uk
